Wow! How the time has flown by!!!
We have been home with Austin one week now. He is adjusting to his new life quite well. He is slowly getting out of the "pinching game" - which I sure am glad of. He can eat like a horse too!
Austin can now say Da Da when he see's Marc come into the room and he is experimenting with Ma Ma and itty (I think he is trying to say Kitty).
I plan on posting some pictures tonight. We are going to take him in the pool tonight - he absolutley loved it the other night.
This is a great week for Marc and I - On our 5 year Anniversary of being together we now have our handsome son home with us. Can't get much better than that can it folks?

1st Day Home
Trip Home
Well all, our trip home was awful! It actually started out pertty good though - we all woke up around 2a.m. to be at the Guatemala City airport for 4:30a.m. We got on the plane, all was well until about 15 min. before landing time the pilot announced we would land in Lafayette instead of Houston due to bad weather in Houston. We landed in Lafayette as the pilot said but sat on the runway for about 1 hour (maybe longer?). By the time we finally were able to get to Houston, you guessed it - we missed our connecting flight !! Ugh. So, we sat in another line for over 1 hour to get a flight home - nothing available. We ended up flying into New Orleans and getting a rent a car to Gulfport. Once we got to Gulfport to pick up our luggage (that supposedly had gone on the Gulfport without us) we were told that our luggage was lost. By the time we got home it was midnight. What a long night.!! We had been up almost 24 solid hours.
The baby did wonderful though!!!!! What a trooper!!! He did better than any of us.
Tonight
Pictures will be posted tonight - without fail.
I have tried to get them on earlier in the day but have discovered it is just about impossible with Austin up and about.
Austin has his first pediatrician visit this afternoon. We took him to WalMart yesterday for the first time - he did pertty good as long as the buggy was actually moving. If it stopped, he hollered. Yesterday afternoon I took him to the hospital to see everyone. At first he played shy real bad, got real scared and cried but after a few minutes he was just fine - he even flirted a little.
I have taken a few cute shots since we have been home. Hope everyone is still enjoying the site.

Back in the USA
Hi everyone;
just wanted to let you know that we made it safe and sound back in the USA.
It feels wonderful to be home again.
We were originally supposed to arrive at 4:15p.m. and did not make it home until almost midnight.!!! Wow, what a long day. If we had been one hour later we would have been up 24 hours.
I will post some pictures of the trip home tomarrow. I have also taken a few pictures of him since being home that are cute cute.
Gotta run.
Thanks for checking in on the blog.

It's Almost Time
Hey everyone;
It's our last day here in Guatemala. I think we are all ready to come home and get back to our regular routines. It will be nice to walk down a street and not see men with guns in their hands. That kinda gives us the willies you know.
We are all packed up - except for those last minute things we will have to throw in our suitcase in the morning.
Austin is doing really good. We have even managed to bring him down to the resteraunt a few times. He eats like a pig!!!
We will fly into Gulfport airport Thursday afternoon at 4:15 p.m.
Can't wait to see everyone again.

Tuesday - July 17th.
Hi all.
Well we did it. We had the embassy appointment today and it went pertty smoothly. We were there close to three hours. We had the opportunity to see lots of babies and new parents which was very exciting. We were certainly able to tell which families had flown in just a day before the appointment - their babies screamed - a lot.
We were all very proud of Austin - he did extremely well at the embassy. He even managed to take in a cat nap while we were there.
After the embassy appointment Jorge (our Guatemalan translator) took us shopping in a little town called Antiqua. I must say, it was quite nice for all of us to see a change of scenary. We managed to all pick up a few things and have a good time.
Tomarrow afternoon Marc and Jorge will go and pick up Austin's Visa. From what I understand, that appointment won't take very long since it is just a pick up.
Hope everyone enjoys all the new pictures we posted today.
If it is nice outside tomarrow - I will take a few pictures outside.

Hi everyone;
as you can see we have finally had a few moments to post some new pictures.
Everything is going well here in Guatemala. Austin has taken to all of us beautifully. His only bother is trying to cut new teeth - ouch. He eats like a pig!! Oink Oink.
We have our embassy appointment in the morning - yea.
We are going to do our best to take a "family picture" with the tripod. So keep a look out for the new pictures. Hope everyone is enjoying the pictures.
We all love the comments...keep them coming!

More Pictures
Hola!!
Well we made it safe and sound. Our plane was a little late arriving so we did not have but 30 min. to get in the room before the baby showed up. (the translator was at the hotel waiting for us). Austin had a hard couple of hours - but he slept all through the night in his own crib!! Yea Austin!! Today has been better already. He is adjusting to us a little more each and every hour.

Comments
It was brought to my attention recently that some people thought you had to joint blog spot in order to leave comments on this blog. I apologize for that, I should have made it clear when I started the blog that anyone can leave a comment - member or not. All you have to do is click on the word "comment" and then click "anonymous".
Sorry for the confusion everyone.
Enjoy the blog.
24 hours to go!! But who's counting?
Thought I would share a few photo's of Austins room and bathroom.
They came out real cute!
The pictures are over there on the right hand side of the screen.

FMLA
Well I submitted my FMLA paperwork !! I will be off of work for 8 weeks - yepee!!!
I will start my FMLA July 14th and return to work September 8th.
I am going to take this time to bond with Austin. Everything around him will be new and I feel certain that he could use that extra time with me. If anyone knows where I could find a good Spanish cartoon on DVD - please let me know. It would proablly help Austin out some to hear some Spanish.

Getting Ready!!
Another Accomplishment!!!
We finally got all the rocks spread around the pool area. YEA !!!
It took a LOT of rocks! I had absolutley no idea how many it would take - wow.
We had hired a gentleman to put the fence up around the pool, but he backed out of the deal after putting only 5 4x4's in the ground. He said the ground was too hard for him to work with even with an augger.
Daddy to the rescue again!! Gosh, what would I do without my parents. In just 1 1/2 hours Daddy and Marc got all the holes dug for the 4x4's !!! What wonderful teamwork. They are doing a fantastic job.
