Screaming

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Austin is indeed STILL needing that morning nap. I have noticed that if I go ahead and put him down for that nap his screaming habits become MUCH IMPROVED. I guess the little guy wanted to be a big guy just too soon. Oh well, I would much rather put him down for another nap than listen to that screaming! Wow!

Catch up time

Hi all;
I have not forgotten about you or the blog.......I have just been too tired by the time I have time to do anything. I have lots of new pictures to post and am going to try my best to get them all online tomarrow. As for now, I will just catch you up in text.
Nikki turned 20 years old on August 10th!!! Wow - she is an old woman now. We went over to her house to celebrate with her and her family - had a good time and ate some wonderful food. The hamburgers and hot dogs were great - thank you Mike!! Gma's potato salad was fantastic too!!!! We had not seen the little girls in a long time so it was nice to be over there. Michelle is getting beautiful.
My Mother, Father, Marc, Austin, Precious and Bow Tie all drove up to Savannah to meet up with my brother and his family for a little reunion and so they could meet Austin. We had a nice time - it could have been a lot better though....almost all of us ended up getting severe upset stomachs!! - ugh - it must be the "Savannah Curse". ha ha Austin traveled quite well. He was getting a little sick of the car seat on our last day in Savannah but other than that he did well. Nana advised me to tilt his car seat to put him at an angle - good good advise. What a wise woman she is!! Austin ended up sleeping almost all the way home from Savannah!!!
Austin seems to be going through a "testing stage" right now. He appears to be trying to see how much he can get away with if he sits in the middle of the room and SCREAMS!! We have decided to start giving him "time outs". When he screams like that - we are placing him in his crib for a few minutes and them bringing him back out. I think it is going to work. Today was better than yesterday - thank goodness. ha ha
He is still not walking but is standing up in the middle of the room a lot more frequently. No new words yet. He as decided to give up his morning nap and just take a very long afternoon nap. He feels like he has gained like 20 pounds in 2 weeks - just kidding but he definetly has gained weight!

Austin and his Poppy - how sweet is this? The two of them have the biggest smiles ever!!

Today was a fantastic day. Austin and I went over to Nana and Poppy's to join them for lunch at McElroy's Resteraunt - yum. The little piggy ate a WHOLE peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some of my fries. At least I will never be worried about him not eating. Lunch was wonderful, as always it was great to get out of the house and the view at McElroy's is always so pleasant. Later in the afternoon, Austin's great Aunt and Uncle's came by to bring him his birthday presents. He seemed to have such a good time with everyone today, he just laughed and laughed and stood up all on his own (he LOVED it when we would cheer him on) and he played peek a boo like crazy. It was nice to be able to see everyone again. I love the fact that Austin is getting to know his "Greats". What wonderful history he is making.

Tomarrow will be another big day - we are going over to Sissy's house to celebrate her birthday!

Hey everyone!

Our "Permanent Resident of the United States"

Hi everyone - thought I would post the latest pictures starting with Austin's Birthday. He was such a lucky boy. Austin's Great Aunt and Uncle's got to meet him for the first time to celebrate his birthday at Nana's house (a few days before the actual day). He started off playing shy with the new people but ended up laughing at almost all of Uncle Tommy's jokes just like he knew what he was doing. He enjoyed himself quite nicely - ate lots of good food even including good ole southern cheese grits - yum!
On his actual birthday his Sissy came over to the house to celebrate the day with us. We all had a blast together - starting it off by taking Austin to Mommy and Sissy's favorite food of all time - you guessed it folks - MEXICAN! Austin loves it too! He ate like a champ, ended up eating all my rice and half of my refried beans.
As you can see from the photo's, Austin got his first experience at riding one of those cars in the mall. It was rather cute. I don't think he knew what to think of it at first, but after a few seconds he enjoyed it. When we returned to the house, we all got in the pool with him. That is indeed one thing he does enjoy. He actually went under water swimming for the first time and came up laughing. Of course, he laughs at almost everything.
I had made a little sheet cake for his Big Day (dummy me forgot to take a picture of the cake itself - duh). He dove right into that man! He had cake from the top of his head all the way to his diaper. Needless to say, he went straight into the bathtub after cake.

Sunday

Well Austin will be 1 year old tomarrow!! How exciting.
I am planning on taking lots of pictures on his big day. Hopefully some good ones will come out and I can post them tomarrow night.
My Mom and Dad took Austin and I to Chinease this afternoon for lunch - he had a blast. He ate like a champ too. Now his Daddy will be overjoyed with the fact that his handsome boy loves chinease as much as he does. Too neat !!!
Austin is starting to warm up to Nana and Papa quite well. He even let his Nana hold him today. (I was very glad to see that).
Well, I am off for now. I will do my best to post some Birthday pictures tomarrow night.

Hi All

Hi everyone;
Well I have finally found some time to post some new pictures on the blog. I hope everyone enjoys them.
Austin is adapting quite well here in his new home with his new family. Slowly but surely he is getting out of his pinching and biting stage and I must say- what a relief! literally! Now I don't have a ton of bruises all over me. ha ha
Precious (our oldest female cat) is very protective of the baby - the minute the baby cries Precious comes running to come and get one of us. It's kinda cute. Bow Tie is not too sure of the baby though - his facial expressions towards the baby are sometimes absolutley hysterical! Sometimes he just looks at the baby like "please go back where you came from kid - I miss all the attention I was getting".
As everyone has learned Austin still is "playing shy" around new people. He is starting to warm up nicely to people now after about 15 min or so with them though. He seems to be taken with men easier.
Marc and I have taken the baby swimming a few times and we have both discovered that he loves the swimming pool about as much as I do. ......that is just too neat! He just splashes away.
